Project Love: The Mohawk Show

I love this project by Australian agency The Hungry Workshop. Raleigh Paper commissioned them to design a giveaway for the yearly Mohawk Show, which celebrates both the beauty and brains of design.

I love the neon, with the simple bright patterns and symbols! Wish I was around to see these babies in the flesh! via lovelystationery.

Rules of Summer

So, as it is the start of July tomorrow, I've decided to put together a wee list of things I want to do this summer! For me, lists are a great way of referencing things I want to complete, but either forget about, or for some reason, just escape me! Inspired by Emily of Cupcakes & Cashmere.

1. Be a tourist in my new home!
I've been living in London for a year now, but haven't had the chance to do some of the most iconic 'London' activities! Hopefully the sun is kind, and I can tick off some major activities!

2. Redesign my website
More of a personal goal, I feel my website (and blog for that matter) need a wee bit of a summer makeover!

3. Cook & Bake more
I love to cook and bake, and want to find the time to try new things, experiment, and enjoy being in the kitchen.

4. Take summer holidays
Last year I spent most of the summer in and around London, as I had just arrived - this year, I want to explore more of Europe!

5. Read more books
Instead of sitting on tube, in the park or in the garden, playing on my iPhone or Laptop, read a book! I love reading and need to do it more...

6. Do more personal design projects
I really want to start some projects that I have been thinking about recently, summer is definitely the time to start these! How exciting!

7. Learn to bike in the craziness that is London
Straight to the point, London is a scary place to be a cyclist... I want to conquer that fear and start biking to work!

8. Be a better friend
It's always a joy to spend time with lovely friends I haven't seen in awhile, and a sunny afternoon is perfect for a picnic in the park.

9. Explore Britain
They say that London isn't a very accurate depiction of what Britain is really like - I want to take some trips around this country, the lake district for tramping (hiking), & exploring some different areas!

10. Shop smarter
Food, clothes, anything - London has such amazing markets, why not take advantage!

Project Love: Marvelous Mischief Makers

This student project by Lisa Schneller is quite beautiful! Marvelous Mischief Makers is a fictional convention for villains - and everything from the campaign posters to the website, to the survival kit makes me smile! Gorgeous colour palette, gorgeous, fun type and a nice tone of voice! via designworklife.

Beautiful Thing of the Week - #20

I know this isn't released until the 27th June, but Amazing Face by Zoe Foster already on the wishlist! Designed by Penguin book designer Alison Colpoys. via thedesignfiles

Velcrosuit

Velcrosuit - aka Adam Hill, has been doing some gorgeous Graphic Design & Illustration work. I have blogged about his Typographic Murals before, and his other work is really great too! The branding for Mad Brew is quite amazing, and all of his poster illustration work is really inspiring.
